If you live in New York City, then I bet it sometimes feels like a time warp. The summer approaches and then, bang! The summer’s over and you’re digging into the next phase of work projects.

In Nimble we coach our clients to prepare for this shift in seasons and workload. Today we would like to share the process we use to get ready for what’s coming:

  1. GET BACK ON A REGULAR SLEEP CYCLE

Over the years we’ve seen clients spend big money with renown sleep doctors, all circling back with similar information. Information that I’m sharing with you right now. Get on a sleep cycle that starts at 10pm with a 6am wake up- or as close as possible. Shoot for a time that you feel you can stick to and makes sense for your personal schedule. In Nimble we have some clients that really struggle with sleep and those people are making the same mistakes over and over again…too much stimulation at night! Assess meal time, move your coffee intake to earlier in the day and start a de-stressing process as night falls.

  1. SHIFT YOUR SEASONAL NUTRITION & STOP ALL SUGAR INTAKE (FOR A BIT)

Summer eating is fun, but it can also be challenging on the system if we overdo it. Now is a good time to give your body a small detox from sugar or any other food you may be over consuming toward the end of summer. Take a walk to the farmers market and investigate the new veggies that will coming in season and plan some fun meals to start incorporating them in to your diet.

  1. CREATE A NEW TRAINING PROGRAM TO GET NEW RESULTS!

One of the biggest exercise mistakes people make is never changing up their program. They do the same thing for twenty years and then wonder why they feel the way they do. Look at your week and ask yourself, am I doing energy building work, strength training, mobility and cardiovascular training to have a well-rounded program? If not, keep it simple and get all of those elements into your holistic training week. Nimble Fitness can help you with this if you need somewhere to start.

  1. SET YOUR INTENT NOW FOR HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO FINISH 2019

I now start every coaching client out with creating intentions for themselves. Why? The way I see it is, I want one’s subconscious mind doing the heavy lifting of changing habits. Setting intentions help align our mind, body and soul with what we truly want to attract in our lives. Try it out! It works! Remember, how you write intentions is very important too, so make them in the present tense, clear and with the energy that attracts what you desire. I have assessed many client’s intentions over the years and for some clients, it was obvious why their lives weren’t lining up with their intentions. Their intent was unclear and unfocused.

These are some of the action tips we share with our clients when seasons shift. Remember when tackling a new habit, it’s important to choose one that you are close to 100% positive you can have success, otherwise choose a different one. This doesn’t mean you can’t take other actions, it just means you’re committing your efforts to a shift you are confident you will stick with. This will then spark more energy and excitement in your being.

Namaste,

Daniel
